Discovery Days are one-day workshops that give secondary school students and teachers the opportunity to explore a variety of career options in medicine and the health sciences. Held at universities and colleges across Canada, these inspirational days are comprised of a dynamic keynote lecture, hands-on workshops and a career panel discussion. Students gain a clear picture of what it would be like to be a health professional by interacting with researchers, clinicians and educators in their real-life work setting.
“Growing up in rural Newfoundland there was no exposure to the wide variety of fields within health care and medicine. I distinctly remember the anatomy lab at my first Discovery Day at Memorial University. It was amazing! It sparked my interest in a heath care career and led me to where I am now. I am so grateful that I was given that opportunity.”
