It is with great sadness that the CMHF recently learned of the loss of former board member, Dr. David Hawkins, who died in Ottawa following acute respiratory illness on February 12, 2011. Dr. Hawkins served on the CMHF board from June 2004 to January 2009, with the last 18 months in the role of chair. Dr. Hawkins will always be remembered for his delightful sense of humour, the extraordinary number of medical connections he had across Canada and beyond, and for his generous contributions to our scholarship program. Dr. Hawkins will be dearly missed by all those who he encountered through the CMHF. Our thoughts are with the Hawkins family at this most difficult time.
