CMHF Laureates are Canadian leaders whose contributions to medicine and the health sciences have significantly advanced human health. As role models in their fields, they inspire future generations to pursue excellence in health and medicine.

“The 2027 Inductees embody the extraordinary leadership, innovation and commitment that have shaped health outcomes and healthcare in Canada and around the world,” said Maureen Quigley, MSc, ICD.D, Chair of the CMHF Board of Directors. “Their achievements and compelling stories deserve to be celebrated and shared. They will join the ranks of the CMHF’s 173 distinguished Laureates next April.”

Nominees are put forward by individuals or organizations and evaluated by the CMHF Selection Committee, a panel of prominent health and medical professionals appointed by the CMHF Board of Directors. The Committee conducts its rigorous, comprehensive review at arm’s length from the Board and selects the Inductees.

“Each year, the Selection Committee has the considerable responsibility and privilege of reviewing nominations that reflect the remarkable depth of health leadership across Canada,” said Paul Hébert, MD, Chair of the CMHF’s 2027 Inductee Selection Committee and President of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. “This year’s Inductees stood out for the lasting impact of their contributions and the profound difference their work has made in the lives of people in Canada and beyond.”

The 2027 Inductees will be formally welcomed into the CMHF at the Induction Ceremony on April 2, 2027, in Montréal, Quebec.
