SIX OUTSTANDING CANADIAN LEADERS IN HEALTH JOIN CANADA’S MEDICAL HALL OF FAME

Hamilton, ON – On Thursday, June 19, the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame (CMHF) will proudly induct six new Laureates whose exemplary leadership, integrity and contributions to medicine and health have led to extraordinary developments in human health. Their outstanding accomplishments range from advancements in Indigenous health and critical care research to leadership in tobacco control, innovations in genetic testing and enhancements in mechanical ventilation. These trailblazers underpin Canada’s role as a world-class leader in medicine and health science.

Heather Hiscox, Host of Morning Live on CBC News Network, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies. The 2025 Induction Ceremony is presented by the Canadian Medical Association (CMA), MD Financial Management Inc. (MD) and Scotiabank, who together are committed to supporting the medical profession and advancing health in Canada. As proof of this commitment, and in collaboration with the CMA and MD, Scotiabank is investing $115 million to support physicians and the communities they serve across Canada.

A brilliant investigator in cancer genetics

Arthur S. Slutsky, CM MD FRSC FCAHS
A changemaker in critical care and respiratory medicine

The Late Jennie Trout, MD
A revolutionary advocate for women in medicine
