The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame is seeking one new Director to join our 15-person National Board of Directors in June 2026.
The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame (CMHF) celebrates Canadian heroes whose work advances health in Canada and the world. We foster future generations of health professionals through the delivery of local and national youth education programs and awards. This enduring tribute to our country’s rich medical history is showcased on our virtual hall at www.cdnmedhall.ca and in an exhibit hall in London, ON.

We honour the contributions of Canadian physicians, scientists, policy makers, and other health care professionals who have led the world in ground-breaking research and innovative thinking to make Canada a leader in health care. Additionally,
- We take pride in working with Canadian medical schools to identify top students who receive a cash award and are honoured as Canada’s next generation of health leaders.
- We inform and excite Canada’s youth about the wide variety of career options in health in partnership with Canadian universities, hospitals, and research centres. By connecting high school students to world-class researchers and clinicians in real-life settings through Discovery Days, we are helping to build our future health workforce.
- 167 Laureates Inducted, and close to 170 CMHF Award recipients since inception.
- Close to 3,000 Discovery Day participants across Canada each year.
We recognize that diversity, equity, and inclusion strengthen the health sciences, health systems, and health care communities and lead to enhanced quality, social relevance, and impact of health-related disciplines. Throughout all its activities, the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame strives to engage and promote the active participation of individuals of diverse backgrounds, including those from historically underrepresented groups. We actively seek a diverse pool of award nominations so that those honoured may reflect the diversity of our communities.

Position Description: The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame is seeking one new Director to join our 15-person National Board of Directors in June 2026.
While we welcome all applications, at this time, priority will be given to the following:

Time Commitment:
Term Length: 3 years; May serve up to two terms.
Board Meetings: Four times per year
Subcommittee meetings: Four times per year
- January (Virtual Meeting)
- April (Virtual Meeting)
- June (in person following the Induction Ceremony in rotating cities across the country)
- October (Virtual Meeting)
